Fire Curtains
Automatic Fire Curtains — BÖLDT FC-A240
Compartmentation on Demand, Invisible Until Needed

Overview
Concealed Until the Moment It's Needed
Engineered to EN 1634-1 / EN 12101-1 · Manufactured in Jaipur
Automatic fire curtains remain fully concealed within a powder-coated steel head box, preserving open-plan sightlines, daylight and architectural intent in atriums, malls, offices and large-volume spaces. On receipt of a signal from the building's fire alarm system — or on loss of mains power — the curtain fabric descends under gravity along steel side guides to form a continuous fire-resistant barrier across the opening, with no reliance on compressed air, springs or standby power for deployment.
How It Works
BÖLDT Fail-Safe Descent
- —Fabric is wound onto a barrel within the head box, held in the open position by an electromagnetic brake
- —On a fire alarm signal or loss of power, the brake releases and the Fail-Safe Descent mechanism deploys the curtain under its own weight
- —Side guide channels maintain alignment and seal across the full height of the opening
- —A weighted bottom bar ensures the curtain seats firmly against the floor on full deployment
