Challenge

The requirement

Open-plan layouts, tall floor-to-ceiling heights and irregular openings around staircases, food-service counters and a Live Studio made conventional walls and doors impractical. Cafeteria counters had to stay visually open during service, yet seal within seconds of a fire signal. The Live Studio opening was bounded by multiple angled walls rather than a single straight edge.

Solution

How it was delivered

Straight curtains span Ground and First Floor cafeteria counters from slim powder-coated head boxes. Dedicated straight curtains seal the internal staircase at each level. A large accordion square-type curtain folds across all four sides of the Live Studio in a single continuous barrier. Every curtain remains retracted in its head box until the fire detection system triggers gravity fail-safe deployment.

One product family across every opening

The same certified product family and automatic fail-safe logic covers a 2.275-metre counter opening and a 26-metre, four-sided studio enclosure - avoiding a patchwork of vendors on a large-format commercial facility.
